4 New Maine Breweries Coming in 2017 (And 3 Grand Openings You Already Missed)

New Maine breweries are popping up all over the state. At the start of the year, 93 breweries were up and running according to the Maine Brewers’ Guild. The endless supply of craft beer in Maine only continues to grow since several new breweries opened in 2017 and even more scheduled to open in the fall.

Opened: March 16, 2017 Located in the former Small Arms Range of the Brunswick Naval Air Station (now Brunswick Landing), Flight Deck Brewing officially opened its doors last march. They’re one of the only breweries in the world brewing with 100% renewable energy utilizing solar and electric biofuel (anaerobic biodigestion, to be exact). With the tasting room open Wednesday through Sunday, Flight Deck takes Mondays and Tuesdays to focus on their art. You’ll never get bored with multiple visits as they always have six beers on tap and brews changing weekly.

Opened: April 8, 2017 Founders Jacob Condon and Shane Noble are no rookies in the brew industry. With a collective 25 years of experience, together they opened Battery Steele Brewing last spring. The new brewery focuses on four varieties: a stout, a varying farmhouse ale, and two IPAs. With four lines in their tap room, Battery Steele fills pints and growlers along with cans Thursday through Monday.

Opened: June 30, 2017 Open just three days a week, Yes Brewing tasting room is nothing short of an adventure. Their bright and eccentric branding represents their brews well. Opening with four styles in not-so-typical flavors, there is definitely something for everyone. Spice things up with their jalapeno pale ale, Fear Not, only to cool it down with Yes PLZ, a mind IPA. Then change it up with their Pineapple Mosaic Berliner Weisse.  Or take it to the next level with their double dry hopped pale ale Lil’ DBL.
